Ingredients
  

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons lemon juice

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Pita bread, for serving

Tzatziki sauce, for serving

Fresh parsley or dill, chopped, for garnish

Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, smoked paprika, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken pieces and toss until they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

    Prepare the Skewers: While the chicken is marinating, soak wooden skewers in water to prevent them from burning during cooking.

      Skewer the Chicken: Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the soaked skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.

        Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

          Cook the Chicken Souvlaki: Place the skewers in the air fryer basket in a single layer, without overcrowding. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes, turning halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C)).

            Serve: Remove the skewers from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Serve the chicken souvlaki in warm pita bread, drizzled with tzatziki sauce and garnished with fresh parsley or dill.

              Enjoy: Pair them with a side of Greek salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal!
