Ingredients

1 batch of angel food cake batter (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup granulated sugar

3 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

2 tablespoons melted butter (for coating)

A pinch of salt

Optional: whipped cream or chocolate sauce for dipping

Instructions

Prepare the Angel Food Cake Batter: If using homemade batter, whip the egg whites with sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold in sifted cake flour gently until just combined. If using store-bought, ensure it's ready to be used.

Heat the Oil: In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). A deep-fry thermometer can be helpful here.

Fry the Bites: Using a small cookie scoop or a spoon, drop bite-sized dollops of the angel food cake batter into the hot oil, frying a few at a time (do not overcrowd). Fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

Drain the Oil: Once cooked, remove the churro bites with a slotted spoon and let them drain on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating: In a separate bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. While the churro bites are still warm, brush them with melted butter and then roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat evenly.

Serve: Place the churro bites on a serving platter. You can serve them with a side of whipped cream or drizzle some chocolate sauce for dipping.

              Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4-6

                - Presentation Tips: Arrange the churro bites in a pyramid on a decorative plate, sprinkle a little extra cinnamon sugar on top, and add a small bowl of dipping sauce beside them for an enticing presentation!
