Ingredients

4 cups water

4 tablespoons Thai tea leaves (or Thai tea bags)

1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

1/2 cup whole milk or coconut milk (for a creamy version)

Ice cubes

Optional: Star anise or crushed cardamom for extra flavor

Instructions

Boil Water: In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium heat.

Steep Tea: Once boiling, remove from heat and add the Thai tea leaves or tea bags. Let it steep for about 5-7 minutes. The longer you steep, the stronger the flavor will be.

Strain Tea: After steeping, strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve into a large bowl or pitcher to remove the leaves or bags.

Add Sugar: While the tea is still warm, stir in the sugar until fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness to your liking.

Chill: Allow the infused tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until completely chilled. This will take about 1-2 hours.

Prepare Glasses: Fill tall glasses with ice cubes, leaving some space at the top.

Pour Tea: Pour the chilled Thai tea over the ice-filled glasses.

Add Milk: Gently pour in the whole milk or coconut milk on the top. This will create a beautiful swirled effect.

Garnish: If desired, add a star anise or a sprinkle of crushed cardamom for added aroma and decoration.

Serve: Mix before drinking to combine the layers, and enjoy your refreshing Thai iced tea!
