Ingredients

1 lb chicken tenders

6 slices of bacon, chopped

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a kick)

1 tablespoon olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove it from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

In a large bowl, mix together the brown sugar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).

Add the chicken tenders to the bowl and coat them evenly with the marinade. Allow them to marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).

In a large oven-proof skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken tenders. Sear them for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown.

Once the chicken is browned, sprinkle the cooked bacon over the top of the tenders.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and has an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Remove from the oven and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
