Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped

1/4 cup pickled jalapeños, chopped

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup panko bread crumbs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, and pickled jalapeños. Stir until well mixed.

Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to the cheese mixture; blend until evenly incorporated.

Use your hands to scoop out about 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture and form it into a ball. Repeat until the mixture is fully used; you should get about 12-15 cheese balls.

Set up a breading station: Place the panko breadcrumbs in one bowl, the all-purpose flour in another, and the beaten eggs in a third bowl.

Coat each cheese ball first in the flour, then dip it into the egg mixture, and finally roll it in the panko breadcrumbs until fully coated.

Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Once the oil reaches 350°F (175°C), carefully drop a few cheese balls at a time into the hot oil.

Fry the cheese balls for about 3-4 minutes or until they turn golden brown, turning them occasionally for even cooking.

Remove the cheese balls using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy them by themselves!
