Ingredients

4 large croissants

8 slices of deli ham (preferably smoked)

8 slices of Swiss cheese (or your favorite cheese)

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 egg (for egg wash)

Optional: Fresh arugula or spinach for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Slice each croissant in half lengthwise, creating a top and bottom piece.

In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, rosemary, and black pepper.

Spread a thin layer of the mustard-mayo mixture on the inside of each croissant half.

Layer 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of Swiss cheese onto the bottom half of each croissant.

Place the top half of the croissant back on and gently press down to secure the fillings.

In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush the egg wash over the tops of the croissants for a glossy finish.

Place the assembled croissants on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving.

If desired, serve with fresh arugula or spinach on the side for a pop of color and freshness.
