Ingredients

1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped

2 green onions, finely sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, freshly grated

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon lime juice

6 slices of thick bread (sourdough or brioche works well)

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for spice)

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil for brushing

Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a food processor, combine the shrimp, cilantro, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Pulse until the shrimp mixture is coarsely chopped but not completely pureed.

Spread a generous layer of cream cheese on each slice of bread.

Spoon the shrimp mixture evenly over the cream cheese on each toast.

Place the prepared toasts on the lined baking sheet and brush the edges of the bread lightly with olive oil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the shrimp are cooked through and the bread is lightly toasted.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Optional: Scatter sesame seeds over the baked shrimp toasts for added texture and garnish.
