Ingredients

12 oz spaghetti

1 lb ground beef (or turkey)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups marinara sauce

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Spaghetti: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined.

Form Meatballs: Roll the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the cooked spaghetti and marinara sauce. Toss until the spaghetti is evenly coated.

Layer the Dish: In a large baking dish, spread half of the spaghetti mixture on the bottom. Add a layer of baked meatballs, then top with half of the mozzarella cheese. Add the remaining spaghetti and finish with the rest of the meatballs and mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves for an aromatic touch.
