Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

1/4 cup black bean sauce

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tbsp cornstarch

2 tbsp vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, minced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 cup snap peas or green beans, trimmed

4 scallions, chopped

1 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp sesame oil

Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, black bean sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, black pepper, and sugar. Mix well to coat the beef evenly and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes for enhanced flavor.

Prepare the Stir-Fry: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Cook the Beef: Increase the heat to high and add the marinated beef to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the sliced red bell pepper and snap peas (or green beans). Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet crisp.

Combine and Finish: Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Drizzle with sesame oil and toss everything together gently to heat through and combine flavors.

Garnish and Serve: Stir in the chopped scallions and cook for an additional minute. Serve hot over a bed of cooked rice.
