Ingredients

2 cups water

2 tablespoons dried sage leaves (or 6 fresh sage leaves)

2 black tea bags (or 2 tablespoons loose black tea)

1 cup blackberries, fresh or frozen

1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)

1 cup milk of your choice (dairy or non-dairy)

Ice cubes

Fresh sage leaves and blackberries for garnish

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a simmer.

Add the dried or fresh sage leaves to the water, allowing them to steep for about 5 minutes.

Remove the sage leaves and add the black tea bags to the hot water. Steep for another 5 minutes, then remove the tea bags.

While the tea is still warm, stir in the honey or agave syrup until fully dissolved. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.

In a blender, combine the blackberries and 1/4 cup of the cooled tea mixture. Blend until smooth, then strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the seeds, collecting the blackberry syrup in a bowl.

In serving glasses, fill each glass halfway with ice cubes. Pour in 1/2 cup of the blackberry syrup over the ice.

Add 1/2 cup of the remaining cooled tea mixture to each glass and top with 1 cup of your chosen milk, gently stirring to combine the layers.

Garnish with fresh sage leaves and a few whole blackberries for a pop of color and added flavor.

                  Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 2
