Ingredients

4 large bread bowls (hollowed out artisan loaves)

300g spaghetti

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 can (400g) diced tomatoes

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

Salt and pepper, to taste

200g mozzarella cheese, shredded

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, and sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Pour in the diced tomatoes, and stir in the oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the tomato sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly.

Carefully spoon the spaghetti mixture into each hollowed bread bowl, filling them generously.

Top each filled bread bowl with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Place the bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Once baked, remove the bread bowls from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve with grated Parmesan cheese on the side.
