To make buffalo chicken wontons, you need a few key ingredients. The main star is cooked chicken. I like to use shredded rotisserie chicken for its flavor and ease. You will also need cream cheese. This adds richness and helps bind the filling.

Ingredients

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup buffalo sauce (adjust to taste)

1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles (optional)

1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

1 package of wonton wrappers

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Cooking oil for frying

Ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, buffalo sauce, blue cheese (if using), and chopped green onions. Mix until well-combined and creamy.

Position a wonton wrapper on a clean surface or cutting board. Place about a teaspoon of the buffalo chicken mixture in the center of the wrapper.

Brush the edges of the wrapper with the beaten egg to help seal.

Fold the wonton in half diagonally to create a triangle. Press the edges to seal tightly, ensuring there are no air pockets. For added flair, crimp the edges with a fork.

Repeat the process with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling.

Heat enough cooking oil in a deep pan for frying over medium heat. Once hot (about 350°F or 175°C), carefully add the wontons in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.

Fry the wontons for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels.

Serve hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4 (about 24 wontons)

                    - Presentation Tips: Arrange the wontons on a vibrant platter, garnish with extra chopped green onions, and serve with small bowls of dipping sauce on the side for a beautiful and inviting display.
