In a mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Beat on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes.
Add in the vanilla extract, sea salt, and half of the caramel sauce. Mix until well combined.
Transfer the cream cheese mixture into a serving dish or bowl, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top of the cream cheese layer.
If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts and cinnamon over the caramel for an added crunch and flavor.
Serve immediately with sliced apples for dipping, or refrigerate for 30 minutes to chill before serving for enhanced flavors.
