Ingredients

1 cup orzo pasta

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup beef broth

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon ketchup

1 tablespoon mustard

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Pickles and diced tomatoes for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 4-5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and ground beef to the pan. Cook, breaking the meat apart with a spatula, until fully browned and no longer pink, about 6-7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.

Stir in the orzo pasta and mix well, allowing the orzo to absorb some flavors for about 2 minutes.

Pour in the beef broth, ketchup, and mustard. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover.

Simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is cooked al dente and has absorbed most of the liquid. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Once the orzo is done, remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.

Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.

Optional: Serve topped with pickles and diced tomatoes for an extra cheeseburger flair.
