Ingredients

4 slices of thick-cut bread (sourdough or ciabatta work best)

6 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

4 slices crispy cooked bacon, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, minced garlic, chopped bacon, onion powder, smoked paprika, parsley (if using), and salt and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

Toast the Bread: Lightly brush both sides of each slice of bread with olive oil or melted butter. Place the bread slices on a baking sheet, ensuring they’re not overcrowded.

Spread the Cheese Mixture: Generously spread the cheese and bacon mixture on top of each slice of bread.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Broil for Extra Crispiness: For an extra crispy topping, switch the oven to broil for the last 2-3 minutes, keeping a close watch to avoid burning.

Serve: Remove the toast from the oven and let it cool slightly. Cut into halves if desired and serve warm.
