Ingredients

8 oz penne pasta

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 cup marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the marinara sauce and stir until heated through, about 2-3 minutes.

Combine Ingredients: Add the cooked penne pasta to the pot with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.

Add Cheeses: Sprinkle in the mozzarella and half of the Parmesan cheese into the pot. Stir continuously until the cheese melts and everything is well combined.

Season: Add garlic powder, oregano, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well to incorporate all the flavors.

Serve: Transfer the cheesy pasta to a serving dish, and top with the remaining Parmesan cheese.

Garnish: Finish with fresh basil leaves for a vibrant and aromatic touch.

                Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 20 minutes | Servings: 4

                  - Presentation Tips: Serve the pasta in bowls, and for an added touch, sprinkle some extra mozzarella on top before serving, allowing it to slightly melt under the heat if desired. Pair with a side salad for a complete meal!
