Ingredients

8 oz. penne pasta

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 cup marinara sauce

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Start by boiling a pot of salted water. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Once the butter is melted, add the marinara sauce to the skillet and stir well to combine. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the sauce is heated through.

Lower the heat and mix in the cooked penne pasta, stirring to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) over the pasta.

Stir gently until the cheeses are melted and the pasta is coated in gooey, cheesy goodness, about 2-3 minutes.

Remove from heat and let it sit for a minute to thicken slightly.

Serve warm, garnished with fresh basil leaves for a pop of color and flavor.
