Ingredients

1 pound of pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: Lightly dust a clean surface with flour. Roll out the pizza dough into a large triangle, approximately 12 inches wide at the base and 16 inches tall.

Add Seasoning: In a bowl, mix together the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, and basil until combined. Sprinkle half of the cheese mixture over the rolled-out dough.

Form the Tree Shape: Starting from the base of the triangle, cut 1-inch wide strips diagonally upward towards the tip of the triangle, leaving the top third of the triangle uncut. This will create the tree branches.

Twist the Branches: Gently twist each strip of dough to expose the cheese filling. Be careful not to pull them apart.

Add Egg Wash: Brush the entire tree with the beaten egg to give it a golden color while baking.

Drizzle with Olive Oil: Drizzle the olive oil over the twisted branches for added flavor and moisture.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve warm as a festive appetizer!
