Ingredients

1 large loaf of crusty French bread or Italian bread

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise, creating two long pieces.

In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves of the bread.

In a separate bowl, combine the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Distribute the cheese mixture evenly over the buttered bread halves.

Place the bread halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top for garnish.

Allow to cool slightly before slicing into individual pieces.
