Ingredients

1 large loaf French bread or sourdough

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a kick)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Salt to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise, making sure not to cut all the way through; leave a hinge at the back.

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, dried Italian herbs, red pepper flakes (if using), and salt. Mix until well combined.

Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over the cut sides of the bread, ensuring even coverage.

In a separate bowl, mix together the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.

Sprinkle the cheese mixture evenly over both halves of the prepared bread.

Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges are golden brown.

Once melted and golden, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.

Using a pizza cutter, slice the bread into even pieces and garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
