2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1 cup marinara sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 package (2 sheets) refrigerated pizza dough

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Salt and pepper to taste

Extra Italian herbs for garnish (optional)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly coated.

      Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, unroll one sheet of pizza dough. Using a rolling pin, gently roll it out to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut it into rectangles (about 6 inches by 4 inches).

        Fill the Dough: Spoon a generous amount of the chicken mixture onto one half of each dough rectangle, leaving some space at the edges for sealing. Top each filled pocket with a sprinkle of the remaining mozzarella cheese.

          Seal the Pockets: Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a pocket. Press the edges together firmly, then use a fork to crimp the edges for an extra seal.

            Add Egg Wash: Brush the tops of each hot pocket with the beaten egg. This will help them achieve a beautiful golden color as they bake.
