Ingredients

1 lb (450g) sirloin beef, thinly sliced

2 large onions, sliced into wedges

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

2 bell peppers (1 red, 1 green), sliced

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Sesame seeds for garnish

Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef with cornstarch, half of the soy sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer, allowing it to sear without crowding the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is browned but not fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onions, and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until they're translucent and slightly caramelized.

Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.

Add the sliced bell peppers to the onions, and continue stir-frying for another 3-4 minutes until the peppers are vibrant but still crisp.

Return the beef to the skillet along with the remaining soy sauce and oyster sauce. Stir-fry everything together for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the beef to finish cooking and the flavors to combine.

Drizzle the sesame oil over the stir-fry and give it a final toss. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.

Remove from heat, and garnish with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro before serving.

                  Prep Time: 15 min | Total Time: 30 min | Servings: 4

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve the stir-fry over steamed jasmine rice or noodles. Use a large platter for a family-style serving, or place individual servings in bowls, garnished with extra cilantro and sesame seeds on top.
