1cupdark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate, based on preference)
1tablespooncoconut oil (optional, for smooth melting)
14 cupcrushed nuts (such as almonds, walnuts, or peanuts)
noneSea salt, for sprinkling (optional)
noneToothpicks or popsicle sticks
Instructions
Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. This will be where you place the chocolate-covered banana bites to set.
Slice the bananas into 1-inch rounds and arrange them evenly on the baking sheet. You can insert toothpicks or popsicle sticks into the center of each slice for easy dipping, if desired.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
Dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. If you're using sticks, hold them by the stick during the dipping process.
Place the chocolate-covered banana bites back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle crushed nuts on top of each bite. If you like a hint of saltiness, a small sprinkle of sea salt can also be added.
Once all slices are dipped and garnished, place the tray in the freezer for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is set and firm.
After freezing, remove from the freezer, and enjoy your delicious chocolate-covered banana bites! They can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
