For the Brownies:

1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

For the Topping:

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons coconut oil (or shortening)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Brownies:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

      - In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar until combined.

        - Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

          - In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

            - Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.

              - Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.

                Prepare the Chocolate Topping:

                  - While the brownies are cooling, place the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.

                    Assemble the Brownies:

                      - Once the brownies are completely cooled, pour the melted chocolate mixture over the top, spreading it evenly.

                        - Arrange the halved strawberries on top of the chocolate layer, pressing them gently into the chocolate.

                          Chill and Serve:

                            - Refrigerate the assembled brownies for at least 30 minutes to set the chocolate.

                              - Once set, cut into squares and serve chilled or at room temperature.
