Ingredients

For the Biscuit Dough:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

¾ cup buttermilk

1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives (optional)

For the Crab Filling:

1 cup lump crab meat, drained and picked over for shells

¼ cup cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Lemon Butter Sauce:

½ cup unsalted butter

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 teaspoon minced garlic

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make the Biscuit Dough: In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. Add the cold cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the cheddar cheese. Gradually add the buttermilk until just combined; do not overmix. If using, fold in the chives.

Prepare the Crab Filling: In another bowl, gently fold together the crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, Old Bay seasoning, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Shape the Biscuits: On a floured surface, pat the biscuit dough into a rectangle about ½ inch thick. Cut into squares or circles. Take a dough piece, flatten it in your palm, and place a spoonful of crab filling in the center, then fold the dough over and pinch to seal. Place the stuffed biscuit seam side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining dough and filling.

Bake the Biscuits: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Prepare the Lemon Butter Sauce: Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat.

Serve: Once the biscuits are golden and cooked through, remove them from the oven. Drizzle the warm lemon butter sauce over the biscuits and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

Enjoy: Serve these delicious crab-stuffed cheddar bay biscuits warm, perfect as an appetizer or a delightful side dish!
