Ingredients

2 cups fresh mushrooms (such as cremini or portobello), sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)

Salt and black pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Once the butter has melted, add the sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes or until they begin to soften and turn golden brown.

Add minced garlic and chopped onion to the skillet. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.

Stir in heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and soy sauce. Mix well and let it simmer gently for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.

Add fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper to taste. Stir well and let it cook on low heat for another 2-3 minutes.

Finally, remove the skillet from heat and stir in the remaining tablespoon of butter for added richness.

Serve the creamy mushroom sauce over perfectly cooked steak, drizzling generously on top.

                Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 25 minutes | Servings: 4

                  - Presentation Tips: For an elevated look, serve the steak topped with a generous ladle of the mushroom sauce, and garnish with fresh parsley. Pair with a side of roasted potatoes or steamed asparagus for a complete meal. Enjoy!
