2 cups fresh basil leaves

½ cup shelled pistachios

2 cloves garlic, minced

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup extra virgin olive oil

1 cup heavy cream

12 oz pasta (spaghetti or your choice)

Zest of 1 lemon

Juice of ½ lemon

Crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for garnish)

Extra pistachios for garnish

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

    Prepare the Pesto: In a food processor, combine the basil leaves, pistachios, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until finely chopped.

      Add Olive Oil: While the food processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Set aside.

        Make It Creamy: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the pistachio pesto until fully incorporated.
