Ingredients

20 jumbo pasta shells

1 pound ground beef

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Pasta Shells: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the jumbo pasta shells according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Beef Filling: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Mix the Cheese Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, the cooked beef mixture, and the egg. Mix until well combined.

Assemble the Shells: Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the cheese and beef mixture and arrange them in the baking dish.

Add Sauce and Cheese: Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells, making sure they are well covered. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
