Ingredients

1 package refrigerated pizza dough (13.8 oz)

1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup pepperoni slices (or your choice of toppings)

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 egg (for egg wash)

Cooking spray (for greasing the muffin pan)

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a standard muffin tin with cooking spray.

Prepare Dough: Unroll the refrigerated pizza dough on a floured surface. With a rolling pin, roll it out slightly and cut it into circles that will fit into your muffin tin, about 4-5 inches in diameter.

Fit Dough into Muffin Tin: Press each dough circle into the bottom and sides of the muffin cups, allowing some dough to hang over the edge.

Add Sauce: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce into each cup, followed by a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.

Layer Toppings: Sprinkle in your preferred toppings, such as pepperoni, sliced bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms. Then, add another layer of mozzarella cheese.

Seal the Cups: Fold the overhanging dough over the tops, creating a lid for each cupcake. Pinch the edges to seal well.

Egg Wash: Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the top of each pizza cupcake. This will give them a beautiful golden color when baked.

Add Seasoning: Sprinkle dried oregano, garlic powder, and grated Parmesan cheese over the tops of the sealed cupcakes.

Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 18-20 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Cool and Serve: Remove the muffin tin from the oven and let the pizza cupcakes cool for a few minutes. Carefully use a fork or small spatula to lift them out. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired, and serve warm.
