Ingredients

1.5 lbs chicken thighs (boneless, skinless)

1/2 cup brown sugar

4 cloves garlic (minced)

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tsp ground ginger

1/2 tsp black pepper

2 tbsp olive oil

2 green onions (sliced, for garnish)

Sesames seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, minced garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth to create the marinade.

Place the chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let it marinate for 10-15 minutes to infuse flavors.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, remove the chicken from the marinade and place it in the skillet.

Sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes on one side until golden brown.

Flip the chicken and pour the remaining marinade over it. Reduce heat to medium and cook for another 5-7 minutes, basting the chicken occasionally with the sauce, until cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F / 75°C).

Remove the skillet from heat. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice it if desired.

Serve the chicken drizzled with the sauce from the skillet, and sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish.
