Ingredients

1 ciabatta roll (or your favorite sandwich bread)

4 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced

1 medium ripe tomato, sliced

1 handful fresh basil leaves

2 tablespoons balsamic glaze

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: a pinch of dried oregano for extra flavor

Instructions

Preheat your panini press or a large skillet over medium heat.

Slice the ciabatta roll in half horizontally. Drizzle the inside of each half with olive oil.

Layer the fresh mozzarella slices on the bottom half of the ciabatta roll.

Add the sliced tomatoes on top of the mozzarella, followed by the fresh basil leaves.

Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the tomatoes and basil, then season with salt, pepper, and dried oregano if desired.

Place the top half of the ciabatta roll on the filled bottom half.

If using a skillet, place a heavy pan on top to press the sandwich down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the mozzarella begins to melt. If using a panini press, simply close the lid and cook for 3-4 minutes.

Once toasted to perfection, carefully remove the panini from heat. Let it cool for a minute before slicing in half.

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve the panini warm, cut diagonally, and arrange on a plate with a drizzle of extra balsamic glaze on the side. Garnish with a sprig of fresh basil for an appealing touch.
