4 boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (optional, for some heat)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Season both sides of the pork chops generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

    In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are browned and cooked through. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

      In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and sauté for 3-4 minutes until they begin to caramelize.

        Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.

          Pour in the chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze and incorporate all the flavorful bits.

            Stir in the heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, and Cajun seasoning. Allow the sauce to simmer for 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.

              Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the creamy sauce. Cook for another 5 minutes on low heat, so the chops absorb some of the sauce flavors.

                Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, then remove from heat.

                  Serve the smothered pork chops hot, generously spooning the creamy onion sauce over each chop.
