Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup warm water (about 110°F)

2 teaspoons instant yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons olive oil (plus more for drizzling)

1/2 cup dill pickles, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Sea salt, for sprinkling

Optional: sliced pickles and fresh dill fronds for garnish

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

Add the flour, salt, olive oil, chopped dill pickles, and fresh dill. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a greased baking sheet or focaccia pan. Gently stretch and press the dough to fit the pan.

Using your fingers, create dimples all over the surface of the dough.

Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil over the top, then sprinkle with garlic powder and sea salt.

Let the dough rest for another 20 minutes. In the meantime, sprinkle additional chopped dill pickles on top.

Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Optional: garnish with extra slices of pickles and fresh dill fronds.

Slice and serve warm, ideally paired with a dip or on its own.
