Ingredients

1 package of refrigerated croissant dough (8 rolls)

1 cup sliced pepperoni

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon pesto (optional)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Unroll the croissant dough and separate it into triangles as per the package instructions.

If using, spread a small amount of pesto on each triangle for added flavor.

Place about 2-3 slices of pepperoni on the wider part of each triangle, followed by a tablespoon of shredded mozzarella cheese.

Starting from the wider end, carefully roll up each croissant tightly, ensuring that the filling is enclosed.

Place the rolled croissants on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they have space in between.

Brush the tops of the croissants with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish as they bake.

Sprinkle a pinch of Italian seasoning on top of each croissant for extra flavor.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Optionally, serve with fresh basil leaves as garnish and a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
