Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)

3 tablespoons white miso paste

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (toasted)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Marinate the Salmon: In a medium bowl, whisk together the miso paste, soy sauce, honey (or maple syrup), sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and rice vinegar until smooth.

Prepare the Fillets: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the miso marinade over the salmon, ensuring it’s well coated. Reserve the other half for basting later. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours in the refrigerator).

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Bake the Salmon: Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off, and place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Season with salt and pepper.

Baste and Roast: Brush the reserved marinade over the salmon fillets for extra flavor. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

Finish with Sesame: In the last minute of cooking, sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds over the fillets for an added crunch.

Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

                Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 4

                  - Presentation Tips: Serve the salmon fillets on a bed of steamed jasmine rice or alongside sautéed bok choy for a beautiful contrast. Drizzle any remaining marinade over the salmon for extra flavor. Optionally, add additional sesame seeds and a wedge of lime for a pop of color!
