Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm water (about 110°F)

¼ cup olive oil (plus extra for brushing)

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves

1 teaspoon sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, instant yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Add the olive oil and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually incorporate the flour, stirring with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Turn the risen dough out onto a floured surface and gently punch it down. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces.

Roll each piece into a long, thin stick (about 8 inches long) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme together. Brush the dough sticks lightly with olive oil and then sprinkle the herb mixture evenly over them.

Sprinkle sea salt on top of the breadsticks for extra flavor.

Cover the breadsticks with a cloth and let them rise for another 20 minutes while the oven finishes preheating.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown and puffed up.

Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Prep Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 1 hr 35 mins | Servings: 12 breadsticks

                            - Presentation Tips: Serve the breadsticks warm, arranged in a tall glass or on a wooden board. Drizzle with additional olive oil or serve with a balsamic dip for a flavorful accompaniment.
