Ingredients

1 package (14 oz) wonton wrappers

1 cup ground pork (or chicken)

1/2 cup finely chopped green onions

1/2 cup finely diced cabbage

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon cornstarch

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped green onions, diced cabbage, minced garlic, and grated ginger.

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and season with salt and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

Lay out a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and spoon about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center.

Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, fold the wrapper diagonally to create a triangle, and press to seal the edges firmly.

Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat until hot (about 350°F or 180°C).

Fry the wontons in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.

Remove the fried wontons with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce, such as a sweet chili sauce or soy sauce.
