Ingredients

1 loaf of crusty French bread or ciabatta

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

6 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt to taste

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, basil, oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Slice the French bread in half lengthwise, then score each half deeply in a crosshatch pattern without cutting through the crust.

Generously spread the garlic herb butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread, making sure to get it into the scored cuts for maximum flavor.

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top of the buttered bread, followed by a generous layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.

Place the bread halves on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the edges are golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes before slicing into individual servings.
