Ingredients

1 small head of green cabbage, thinly sliced

4 cups fresh kale, stems removed and chopped

4 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

Juice of 1 lemon

Optional: ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Optional: Toasted pine nuts or sunflower seeds for garnish

Instructions

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Sauté Garlic: Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant, but be careful not to let the garlic burn.

Add Cabbage: Stir in the sliced cabbage, salt, and pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage has softened and begins to caramelize.

Incorporate Kale: Add the chopped kale to the skillet. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently until the kale wilts and combines well with the cabbage.

Finish with Lemon: Remove the skillet from heat and squeeze the lemon juice over the sautéed vegetables. Mix well.

Optional Garnish: For an extra layer of flavor, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and toasted pine nuts or sunflower seeds before serving.
