Ingredients

500g ground beef

250g ground pork

1 large onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup stale bread, crust removed and soaked in milk

1 large egg

1 teaspoon mustard (preferably German)

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

1 teaspoon paprika

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork.

Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, and soaked bread (make sure to squeeze out excess milk before adding).

Add the egg, mustard, black pepper, salt, parsley, and paprika to the meat mixture.

Use your hands to mix the ingredients together until well combined. Be careful not to over-mix.

Form the mixture into patties, about 1 inch thick and around 3-4 inches in diameter. You should get approximately 8-10 patties.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the patties in the pan without overcrowding.

Fry the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are nicely browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 70°C/160°F).

Remove the cooked frikadellen from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.

Serve the frikadellen warm with traditional sides like German potato salad, sauerkraut, or fresh rolls.

                    Prep Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 30 mins | Servings: 4-5

                      - Presentation Tips: Stack the frikadellen on a serving platter garnished with fresh parsley sprigs. Pair them with a small bowl of mustard for dipping and a colorful side salad for added brightness!
