Ingredients

4 green apples, cored and chopped

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup water

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

1/2 teaspoon finely grated ginger

A pinch of salt

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped green apples, sugar, and water. Stir well to incorporate the sugar.

Add the lemon juice, cinnamon powder, grated ginger, and a pinch of salt to the saucepan.

Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar completely.

Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the apples have softened and the mixture has thickened slightly.

Remove from heat and let the syrup cool for a few minutes. Once cooled, blend the mixture using an immersion blender until smooth (or transfer to a blender carefully).

Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a clean jar, pressing the solids to extract more syrup. Discard the solids.

Allow the syrup to cool completely before sealing the jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
