1 tablespoon baking powder

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup diced ham

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

    In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

      Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and diced ham until evenly distributed.

        Pour in the buttermilk and gently stir until just combined. The dough may be slightly lumpy, which is okay; do not overmix.

          In a separate bowl, melt the butter. Take a 9x13 inch baking dish and pour the melted butter into the bottom, ensuring it covers the entire surface.

            Spoon the biscuit dough into the baking dish over the melted butter, making approximately 12 even portions. Do not worry about the spacing; they will expand while baking.

              Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of a biscuit comes out clean.

                Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm for the best flavor.
