Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed

6 slices of deli ham

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface until it’s about 1/8 inch thick. Then cut it into 4 equal rectangles.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.

Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each puff pastry rectangle.

Place 1 slice of ham on top of the cream cheese layer, followed by a generous sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese.

Fold the sides of the pastry over the filling gently, pinching the edges to seal them. Twist the sticks a few times for effect.

Place the prepared ham and cheese sticks on the lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.

Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
