Ingredients
  

2 slices of whole grain bread (or your preferred bread)

2 large eggs

2 slices of ham (smoked or honey-glazed)

2 slices of cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)

1 tablespoon of butter

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh spinach or arugula (optional)

1 tablespoon of mayonnaise or mustard (optional for spread)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Ingredients: Gather all ingredients on your workspace. If you’re adding greens, rinse and set aside. You may also choose to prepare a spread of mayonnaise or mustard if desired.

    Cook the Ham: In a skillet over medium heat, add the slices of ham. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and slightly crispy. Remove and set aside.

      Cook the Eggs: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add butter. Crack two eggs carefully into the skillet. For sunny-side-up eggs, cook until the whites are set and the yolks are still runny (about 3-4 minutes). For over-easy, gently flip the eggs and cook for another minute. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

        Build the Sandwich: Toast the bread slices until golden brown. On one slice, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or mustard if using. Layer the ham slices, followed by the cooked egg(s), and then the cheddar cheese on top. If you’re using greens, add them now before placing the other slice of bread on top.

          Melt the Cheese (Optional): If you want the cheese melted, you can place the assembled sandwich back into the skillet and cover for 1-2 minutes over low heat until the cheese is melted.

            Serve: Remove from skillet, cut in half if desired, and serve hot. Pair it with fresh fruit or a glass of orange juice for a complete breakfast!
