Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 large onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup grated cheddar cheese

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, corn, and carrots)

1 tablespoon olive oil

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and fragrant. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula and cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.

Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with the cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir in the frozen mixed vegetables.

        Layer the Casserole:

          - In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.

            - Pour half of the beef mixture over the potatoes.

              - Repeat with the remaining potatoes and beef mixture.

Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese evenly over the top layer of the casserole.

Cover and Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, let the casserole sit for 5 minutes before serving. If desired, garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color.
