Ingredients

1 pound breakfast sausage (Italian or regular)

1 pound cream cheese, softened

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 loaf of party rye bread or cocktail rye bread

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until it is browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it cooks (about 5-7 minutes).

Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the browned sausage with softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Prepare the Bread: Arrange the party rye bread slices on a baking sheet.

Spread the Mixture: Carefully spread a generous spoonful of the sausage and cheese mixture onto each slice of bread.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are lightly golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve warm and enjoy!
