Ingredients

1 package (12 count) Hawaiian Sweet Rolls

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk (or coconut milk for a tropical twist)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon brown sugar

Pinch of salt

1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for the pan)

Fresh pineapple slices (for serving)

Toasted shredded coconut (for garnish)

Maple syrup (for drizzling)

Instructions

Prep the Rolls: Slice each Hawaiian roll in half horizontally. If they are connected, gently pull them apart after slicing to keep them intact.

Make the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

Soak the Rolls: Dip each half of the Hawaiian roll into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 20 seconds per side to absorb the batter. Make sure they don’t get too soggy.

Preheat the Pan: In a large skillet or griddle, heat the butter over medium heat until melted and bubbling.

Cook the French Toast: Place the soaked rolls cut-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes, until cooked through.

Serve: Remove from the skillet and transfer to a serving plate. Top with fresh pineapple slices, drizzle with maple syrup, and sprinkle with toasted shredded coconut for added texture and flavor.

Enjoy: Serve warm with additional syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
