Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon instant yeast

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1¼ cups warm water (about 110°F)

¼ cup olive oil

1 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 tablespoon dried oregano

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped (optional)

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus extra for topping)

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the warm water and olive oil. Stir until a dough begins to form.

Dust a clean surface with flour and knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

While the dough is rising, prepare the herb and garlic filling. In a small bowl, mix the chopped parsley, oregano, minced garlic, rosemary (if using), and Parmesan cheese.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle approximately 10x20 inches.

Evenly spread the herb and garlic mixture over the rolled-out dough. Press down slightly to ensure it sticks.

Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seams to seal.

Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them cut side up in a greased baking dish.

Cover the pan with a damp cloth and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) during this time.

After the second rise, brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg and sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese on top for added flavor.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and the rolls sound hollow when tapped.

Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.

Prep Time, Total Time, Servings: 20 minutes | 2 hours | 12 rolls

                              - Presentation Tips: Serve the rolls warm on a rustic wooden board, garnished with a few sprigs of fresh parsley. Drizzle with olive oil for an extra touch of flavor!
