Ingredients

1 cup dried hibiscus flowers

4 cups water

1 cup fresh pineapple, diced

1 banana, frozen

1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup (optional)

1 cup coconut milk (or any milk of your choice)

1 tablespoon chia seeds

Ice cubes (optional, for a thicker consistency)

Instructions

Brew the Hibiscus Tea: In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the dried hibiscus flowers, reduce heat, and let simmer for about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and strain to collect the hibiscus tea. Let it cool completely.

Prepare the Smoothie Base: In a blender, combine the cooled hibiscus tea, diced fresh pineapple, frozen banana, coconut milk, and if desired, honey or agave syrup.

Add Chia Seeds: Sprinkle in the chia seeds to incorporate healthy fats and fiber into your smoothie. You can also soak them in a bit of water for 10 minutes before adding to create a thicker consistency.

Blend Until Smooth: Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. If you'd like a thicker smoothie, add a few ice cubes and blend again until desired consistency is reached.

Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more honey or agave. Blend again if you added any additional ingredients.
