Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1/3 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water (optional, for thickening)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons chopped green onions (for garnish)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Cooked rice or steamed broccoli (for serving)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Place the chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal or cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours.

Cook the Chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later. Add the chicken to the skillet and sear for about 5-6 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the reserved marinade and bring to a simmer. If desired, mix the cornstarch with water and add this mixture to the sauce to thicken it, stirring constantly until it reaches your desired consistency.

Glaze the Chicken: Return the chicken to the skillet and turn it to coat in the glossy sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Serve: Slice the chicken and serve it over cooked rice or alongside steamed broccoli. Drizzle with extra sauce from the skillet and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
